A trip to Petra should be planned as a whole-day-trip. About 135 km from Aqaba is one of Earth’s most wonderful places, the rock-city of Petra. The pink city of ruins is impossible to see in whole during the course of only one day, yet it is advisable to be prepared to a whole-day, tiresome trip. Visitors from around the world arrive to the city carved in rock which has been declared World Heritage site. The memories in stone have been preserved, telling stories about the ancient world, yet the city still holds many mysteries. Naturally it is possible to visit the ruins not only on foot, but on camel, horse or even donkey. Horse-carriages are also available. After the visit we could have dinner in one of Petra’s restaurants and return to Aqaba. Those who wish to spend more time here can check-in to one of the local hotels. |
