Mount Nebo is Moses’ memorial, where the prophet died and where he was buried. The temple holds a wonderful view of the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea, but a clear day allows us to see even Jerusalem and Jericho. We can observe the mosaics and learn about the history of the Holy Land.
According to the Old Testament, God shows the Promised Land, Canaan, to Moses from here after leaving Egypt and wandering in the desert for 40 years. Yet he forbids Moses to enter this land.
