Ajloun

The ruling fort of Ajloun is located about 20 kilometres from Jerash, and was built in order to stop the crusades arriving from Jerusalem and for the protection of the roads.
The fort at the entrance of the northern valley of the Jordan River is a nice example for Islamic architecture.
Not far from Ajloun we can find Ikrimah Bin Abi Jahl’s tomb. He was one of the Prophet’s greatest enemies, until he converted to the Islam.
The Al-Khadir shrine is also located here (St. George Temple). St. George was known for his loyalty and love towards God, he is one of the Middle-East’s most favourite saints. Many shrines and temples were built in his honour.

Umm Qais

Umm Qais is located about 110 kilometres from Amman, where we can visit the ancient Gadara, the most northern tourist site of Jordan. The Western Theatre, the terrace of the Basilica, the street of shops and the Nyphaeum are among the principal monuments. The antique culture is represented in the ruins of the basalt-city in chronological order.
