In the past few years many travellers from Europe have visited Jordan. Our country has exposed its treasures to the enquiring masses of tourists only recently. Naturally, the necessary conditions needed to be created for their reception. As a result, many hotels of different categories have opened at the most visited sites, and more and more locals choose tourism as their source of income.
Almost all tourists visit the city of Aqaba, this is the place where the quality of service gets the biggest emphasis. Although travel agencies squarely state a negative opinion in connection with the taxi-travel, more and more guests try it out. The reason might be the fact, that during group tours, several people are locked together, must spend their time adapting to one another, and there is virtually no option to get personal wishes and thoughts across. Travelling alone also has its very obvious price difference as an advantage, since in a group the price is calculated to everyone separately, that is you pay by number of people, while in a car the number of passengers is irrelevant when agreeing on the price.
The agencies frequently mention the dangers of travelling by car, giving ’exact’ statistics about car accidents and injuries per year. This is usually explained with the drivers’ lack of experience or the bad condition of the cars.
I would like to reassure you regarding these as well: Jordan has not more car accidents then any other country. The cars I use are under continuous technical supervision and are checked regularly. Naturally my colleagues and I own valid driving licenses and have gained much experience during the past few years.
