Our visit to the capital should definitely take at least a day or two. Of course you can rely on my help in finding a suitable accommodation; there is no need to worry about that in advance. During the day we will visit the most important monuments and sites of Amman. We could start at the Citadel, where we can get to know ancient Philadelphia and the ruins of the Byzantine city; the Archaeological Museum, the Hercules Temple and the Omayyad Palace are also located here. At the feet of the Citadel, in the heart of the centre we can find the roman amphitheatre and adjacently the Odeon theatre. During our trip we shall see the mosque of King Hussein, and the Mosque of Abu Darwish, built with black and white stones. Later on we shall see the Mosque of King Abdullah which is mainly known for its blue dome. Naturally we will not leave out the market included in the city-tour and in the evening we will get to know the ambience and the habits of modern clubs in the city. |
